I’m looking for your outsourcing questions and stories
Outsourcing is a major part of writing online, whether you’re a marketer outsourcing to a writer like me, or a writer outsourcing your overflow to another writer. I’m creating a product that will (hopefully) help writers and marketers navigate this important, and sometimes complex, arrangement.
Marketers are always looking for good people to outsource too, and are let down way too often from what I’ve read. Writers are searching for great clients, but sometimes end up with the short end of the stick by unethical buyers.
My new report is going to address all of the important issues relating to outsourcing, from both perspectives. Best of all, it’s going to be free!
What are you experiences with outsourcing? Any tips for success? Or horror stories? Share your comments below.

I’ve always been afraid to outsource. I’m pretty anal about how I want things done. How do you know when it’s time to outsource? And what tasks should someone like me begin with?
Hi Courtney!
Oh, I love outsourcing. I didn’t even know there was such a thing, really, 2 years ago — but once I hired my first VA (Virtual Assistant) - there was no turning back!
I was always feeling overwhelmed before, and couldn’t get around to doing the “fun” stuff that I enjoy doing and am great at. Even some of the outsourcing stuff I actually love to do myself, but there just is not enough time.
Since I use your services, Courtney, you also know I love to outsource writing to you - and you have really been wonderful in fulfilling your commitments.
Besides those 2 areas, I also outsource graphics creation, article submission, and other special projects.

I outsourced once, and it was a very positive experience for me. The key is communication. If you are outsourcing, be clear with your instructions. Try not to make it a tight deadline. And, make sure you let the person know that you want them to ask questions if things are unclear. If you are doing the work, make sure you understand the instructions and ask questions if you need clarification.
I do a lot of ghost writing, and the most frustrating projects I’ve dealt with are ones where the client isn’t answering my questions, or the instructions are vague, or they are just so hard to please the whole experience is frustrating.
