Creating work out of thin air…
One of the great things about working online is that you have the ability to create work when you need to. These days my schedule is packed water tight. But these tactics worked in the past when I encountered a “dry” week:
*Contact your former clients. Drop them an e-mail and tell them “It’s was great working with you last time. I’m scheduling projects for next week [or next month] and wanted to see if you needed anything.” If you have a roster of happy clients, you might be surprised at how many realize they need some articles done.
*Contact your online writing friends. If you spend time at a writing forum like Wahm.com or Tiffany Dow’s Writer’s Guide to Internet Marketing Forum, post that you’re available to work. Someone (like me!) might be in search for a good writer to outsource to. You’ll be doing the other writer a favor and making some extra money at the same time. Don’t forget to return the favor if you ever get swamped.
*Create some content to sell with Private Label rights. When you create PLR content, you can resell the same package of articles again and again. Pick a popular topic, write a dozen or so articles or a long report, and then offer them for sale.
*Visit Associated Content or Constant Content to submit articles for pay. If you list them as Non-Exclusive you can resell them as PLR.
*Run a special on article writing packages or ebooks. You can advertise your special to your existing customers or other marketers. If you charge $15 per page, offer a 50 page ebook for $600. It can be a great way to build your client base up.
*Think outside the box. If you offer articles and ebooks, consider offering a blog posting special. Or a blog commenting special. Offer to post comments at someone’s blog in exchange for a small fee.
These are just a few of the ways to make money by writing online. Hopefully you can use this as a jumping off point for work resources.
